What I found. The lock worked with the door open, but the locking points met resistance when it was shut. It was alignment, not a failed cylinder; the cold weather was only the timing.
The result. The door locked smoothly, with no replacement parts.

If you need control of a new set of keys, a cylinder change may be the right job. Most straightforward standard ERA euro-cylinder replacements are £80–£110 supplied and fitted, including the supplied keys.
If you want anti-snap protection, I check the door and discuss a suitable cylinder and hardware. A straightforward Apecs 3-star cylinder change is usually £110–£140. These ranges assume a door that opens normally with a working mechanism and no adjustment needed.
A stiff key or floppy handle isn’t enough to diagnose a cylinder failure. The door may need adjustment or a different part repaired. I’ll inspect it and explain the recommendation.
For a lockout, ring directly. Entry is £65, with further work discussed separately. My prices are unchanged at night, weekends and bank holidays.
There is no call-out fee, and my work carries a 12-month parts-and-labour guarantee.
