I approached MyDiro Digital, a web studio here in Staffordshire, to build me a proper platform for it. They really delivered, and I wanted to say thank you properly, by explaining what they did.
It started with research, not a template
Before anything was designed, MyDiro looked at what people around Stoke-on-Trent and the Moorlands actually search for when they need a locksmith: the problems, the towns and the questions about price. That research decided the shape of the site. Every service I offer has its own page, every main town I cover has its own page, and the advice guides answer the questions people ask before they ring.
They also put together a clear plan of every page and what it is for, so nothing was built twice and nothing important was missed.
A design that feels like my business
The site is dark charcoal and gold, built around my logo and real photos of me and my van. I wanted it to look professional without looking like every other trade website, and I wanted it to be easy to use when someone is stressed and stood outside their own front door.
So every page leads with the same thing: there is no call-out fee. The phone number is always one tap away. And at the end of every page there is a simple choice: ring me now if it’s urgent, or plan a visit if it can wait.
Honest prices, and the proof behind them
I publish my prices because I think it’s the fair way to do it. MyDiro built the price pages so each job shows what it usually costs and exactly what that covers. Then they took it a step further: real jobs from my own records are written up on the service pages, with what I found, what I did and what the customer actually paid, shown beside the usual range so nobody mistakes one job for the price of every job.
They also built the door diagram on my repair pages. You can point at the handle, the barrel, the hinges or the locking strip and see what each part does when it goes wrong, which makes it much easier to explain a fault before I arrive.
An assistant that answers like me
There is an AI assistant on the site that answers questions at any hour, using my own prices and pages. It speaks the way I would, it gives the phone number straight away to anyone who is locked out, it never asks for alarm or key-safe codes, and it never promises an arrival time. If anyone asks, it tells them plainly that it’s my assistant and not me. If it ever can’t connect, the site answers from my own published information instead.
Fast, private and easy on a phone
Most people find a locksmith on their phone, often in a hurry. MyDiro tested every page on phones, tablets and laptops, and checked that the important part of each page fits on the screen without hunting for it. Phones only download what they need, so pages load quickly even on a weak signal, and anyone who prefers less motion gets a still version.
The fonts are stored on my own site rather than loaded from Google, so visiting the site doesn’t hand your details to anyone else just to show some text. The site uses the plain tools needed to work, rather than a stack of add-ons.
Checked before anything goes live
Every time the site is updated, it checks itself before it goes live. Every price has to match my price list, every link has to work, and no claim about me or the business can go up unless I have approved it. If anything doesn’t match, the update stops until it’s put right. That matters to me: what you read here is what you get when I turn up.
Looked after, not just built
The site runs on fast, reliable hosting, and MyDiro look after it for me: updates, new job write-ups and checks that everything still works. That means I can concentrate on what I’m good at, which is sorting out people’s locks and doors.
