Brett Garner trades as Moorlands Locksmiths, a sole trader based in Forsbrook. I am responsible for the personal information used to deal with your enquiry and locksmith job. For a question about your information, call 07456 807068. This notice was last updated on 2 October 2026.

What I collect

When you request a planned visit on this website, I collect your name, phone number, email address, the property address and postcode, the type of job, your preferred day and time, and anything you write in the notes box. Please don’t include alarm codes, key-safe codes or identification documents.

When you ring or message me, I keep the details needed to deal with the job, such as your name, number, address and what needs doing. If you message me on WhatsApp, that message is also handled under WhatsApp’s own terms.

How I use it

I use your details to discuss the work, arrange and confirm a visit, carry out the job, invoice it and deal with any guarantee claim. I send you an email when your request arrives and another when I confirm the visit. I don’t send marketing emails, and I never sell or share your details for anyone else’s marketing.

The legal bases are: taking steps at your request before a job and carrying out the job (contract); keeping job and invoice records (legal obligation); and protecting the website from spam and understanding how it is used (legitimate interests).

How long I keep it

If an enquiry doesn’t lead to a job, I delete your details after 12 months. If I do the work, I keep the job and invoice records for 6 years, as required for tax records. Website statistics are deleted after 26 months. All of this happens automatically.

Who helps me run this

A small number of services process information on my behalf, only to provide their service:

  • Netlify hosts the website and handles form submissions.
  • Supabase stores visit requests in a database located in London.
  • Resend sends the request and confirmation emails.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is sent by a person, not a spam program. It looks at technical information about your browser and device.
  • Stadia Maps supplies the map on the contact page. Your browser requests map images from it, which shows it your IP address.
  • postcodes.io checks that the postcode you type exists and where it is. Only the postcode is sent.

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where information leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Website statistics and cookies

I count visits and actions on this website, such as which pages are read and when someone taps to call, using my own statistics tool. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store your IP address and doesn’t follow you to other websites. The figures are only used as totals.

This website doesn’t use cookies for tracking or advertising. The spam check may use technical data it needs to work.

The website assistant answers from the prices and pages on this site. It runs in your browser, and what you type into it isn’t stored.

Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion, restrict its use or object to certain uses. Some information may have to be retained for legal reasons. Contact me to make a request or raise a concern.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
